SSC pass rate rises, GPA-5 drops

A total of 82.20 per cent students came out successful in this year’s Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and its equivalent examinations and this is 4.43 per cent higher than that of the previous year.

The pass rate was 77.77 per cent last year.

As many as 105,594 students secured highest grade, GPA-5, this year. The number of GPA-5 holders was 110,629 in 2018.

Education minister Dipu Moni announced the results at the capital's International Mother Language Institute on Monday morning.

Before that, chairmen of the education boards handed over the results to the education minister.

The results will be published at 2:00pm simultaneously at the educational institutions of the country.

The students can get the results from their respective school or by visiting www.educationboardresults.gov.bd.

To know the results via SMS, a student will have to write "SSC/DAKHILfirst three letters of board’s nameroll number2019" and send it to 16222 from any mobile phone.

This year, more than 2.1 million students took part in the SSC examinations.
