Rajshahi on top with 91.64pc pass rate

Like previous year, Rajshahi Education Board stood first in the country this time in terms of pass rate in the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examination, reports UNB.

A total of 91.64 per cent candidates -- 186,828 -- came out successful in the examination under the board and 22,795 of them got GPA-5.

The SSC results were published across the country on Monday.


Controller (Exam) of the board Anwarul Haque Pramanik at a conference said a total of 204,835 examinees attended the examination from Rajshahi board this year and 186,828 of them passed the exam.

He said the pass rate among male candidates is 90.40 per cent while 92.96 per cent for female ones.


This year, candidates from a total of 2,646 schools took part in the examination. Of them, all the examinees came out successful from 431 schools while no one could pass the exam from one school.


The pass rate for other education boards are 79.62 per cent in Dhaka, 87.16 per cent in Comilla, 77.41 per cent in Barisal, 90.88 per cent in Jessore, 78.11 per cent in Chittagong, 84.10 per cent in Dinajpur and 70.83 per cent in Sylhet board.
