IU to host int'l seminar Wednesday

An international seminar on 'natural products for drug discovery and development' will be held at Islamic University (IU) in Kushtia on Wednesday.

IU Applied Chemistry and Chemical Engineering department will organise the seminar at Room-140 of the university's Applied Science and Technology building in the morning, officials at the department said on Tuesday morning.

IU vice-chancellor professor M Harun-Ur-Rashid Askari will speak at the seminar as the chief guest while Chemistry professor Ibrahim Demirtas of Turkey's Cankiri Karatekin University will deliver the speech as the chief discussant.

IU pro-VC professor M Shahinoor Rahman, its treasurer professor M Selim Toha and Engineering and Technology faulty dean professor Momtazul Islam will be present as the special guests.
