The number of posts in the 38th BCS (Bangladesh Cadre Service) examinations is set to increase. The public administration ministry has sent a proposal to the Bangladesh Public Service Commission (BPSC) in this regard.

As per the proposal, 136 more people would be recruited in the 38th BCS.

Among them, 8 more would be recruited in foreign cadre, 10 in family planning, 23 civil and 26 mechanical in public works, 14 civil and 4 mechanical in roads and highways and 8 in postal cadres. 


PSC sources earlier said that 2024 officers will be appointed in public administration cadre through the 38th BCS.

Through the BCS concerned, 300 officials would be recruited in administration cadre, 100 in police cadre, 520 in general cadre, 549 in technical and general cadre and 955 in education cadre.

As per the revised decision, the number of appointees will be increased to 2,160.

The results of the written examinations of the 38th BCS is yet to be published after around one year.

Asked about the delay, BPSC chairman Mohammad Sadique said that the delay was caused by a third examiner evaluating the scripts, which has happened for the first time.
