Jagannath Hall Scholarship conferred on 15 DU students

Fifteen students of Jagannath Hall of Dhaka University (DU) have been awarded the Jagannath Hall Scholarship for their outstanding academic performances, according to UNB.

DU vice-chancellor professor, Md Akhtaruzzaman, distributed scholarships among the students as the chief guest at a function held at the VC's Lounge of the university on Monday.

The recipients are Ananda Chandra Sarker, Rony Dey, Niloy Chandra Datta, Jayanta Chandra Barman, Satyajit Das, Proshanta Bala, Dipak Chandra Barman, Siddhartha Roy, Ashiq Kumar Basfor, Akash Kanti Dey, Joy Halder, Sajib Kumar Dey, Indrajit Bishwas, Anik Bakali and Polash Chandra Barman.

DU treasurer professor Md Kamal Uddin presided over the function while provost of Jagannath Hall professor Mihir Lal Saha, acting registrar Md Enamuzzaman, senate and syndicate member SM Bahalul Majnun were, among others, present.

The DU vice-chancellor urged the affluent section of the society to come forward with their helping hands for financially challenged students.

He also called upon the students to equip themselves with moral values to make Bangladesh a peaceful country.
