Int’l conference on ‘social unrest’ at IU

The 7th Biennial Conference of the International Consortium for Social Development Asia-Pacific (ICSDAP) on 'social unrest, peace and development' will begin at Islamic University (IU) in Kushtia on Saturday, reports UNB.

ICSDAP and social welfare department of Islamic University will jointly organised the two-day conference at Birshrestha Hamidur Rahman Auditorium of the university, sources at IU social welfare department said on Wednesday. 


IU vice-chancellor M Harun-Ur-Rashid Askari will address the conference as the chief guest while ICSDAP president Manohar Pawar of Charles Sturt University, Profulla C Sarkar vice-chancellor of Royal University in Dhaka and IU treasurer M Selim Toha will be present as special guests chaired by IU pro-vice-chancellor also the chairman of social welfare department, M Shahinoor Rahman.

A total of one hundred scholars and researchers from eight countries would participate in the conference, IU pro-vice-chancellor said.
