The Dhaka University Journalists' Association (DUJA) celebrated its 34th founding anniversary on Thursday, reports UNB. 


The celebrations took place at TSC amid much enthusiasm and joy.

Leaders and members of DUJA brought out a procession led by vice-chancellor Md Akhtaruzzaman, DUJA president Abir Rayhan, and general secretary Mahdi Al Muhtasim Nibir.

A cake was cut on the occasion at TSC by VC Akhtaruzzaman.

Reminding the reporters of the important role they play, DU VC Akhtaruzzaman said: "DUJA has been playing the role of watchdog. It's been working to uphold democratic practices."

Mentioning the objective of journalists, the vice-chancellor said journalists bring forth many issues and crisis faced by the university. The works of the young journalists positively influence the university administration.

DUJA president Rayhan said: "The young journalists are playing an important role in ensuring quality of higher education at the Dhaka University."
