Dope test for university admission seekers recommended

The standing committee on home affairs ministry has recommended for carrying out dope test on students before their admission into universities.

The parliamentary committee placed the recommendation at a meeting at the Jatiyo Shangsad on Sunday.

The committee also proposed dope test prior to their final examinations at their respective institutions.

According to the parliament secretariat, detail of the dope test has been discussed at a meeting in presence of chairman of the University Grants Commission.

It added that the recommendations were placed with a view to freeing the country from the curse of narcotics and building an educated and healthy nation.

Presided by Md Shamsul Haque, home minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal, Md Afsarul Amin, Md Habibar Rahman, Shamsul Alam, Pir Fazlur Rahman among others were in attendance at the meeting.
