A new monthly magazine named 'Chalti Ghatana: Bangladesh O Bisswo' (Current Affairs: Bangladesh and world) has hit the market.

The magazine will help students prepare for competitive job exams and quench their thirst for knowledge, the speakers hoped at its launching ceremony at Karwan Bazar’s Pragati Bhaban on Saturday.

Published by Prothoma, the price of the magazine is Tk 30.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, former cabinet secretary Ali Imam Majumder wished a success of the magazine.

He said BCS examinations eat up long time from students and urged the authorities to cut down the time in recruitment process.

Bangladesh Public Service Commission former chairman Ekram Ahmed said the government has reduced time in the recruitment in recent years but the time should be decreased further.

Magazine editor and Prothom Alo associate editor Abdul Quayyum detailed about the magazine.

Prothom Alo associate editor Anisul Haq hoped the magazine would be helpful for students prepare for recruitment exams.

Former PSC member Samar Chandra Pal, former PSC secretary Aktari Mamtaz, Dhaka University teacher Tarek Monzur and 34th BCS first place obtainer Munia Chowdhury, among others, speak at the launching ceremony.
