Four DU teachers, 16 students get ‘Dean’s Award’

Sixteen meritorious students of different departments under the faculty of engineering and technology of Dhaka University (DU) received "Dean's Award" for their outstanding academic results in BSC (Honors) examinations of 2017 and 2018, reports UNB.

Besides, four teachers of the faculty also got the award for their excellent research works.

Dhaka University vice-chancellor professor Md Akhtaruzzaman distributed the awards among the brilliant teachers and students at a function at Nabab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Bhaban of the university on Thursday.

Dean of the faculty of engineering and technology professor Md Hasanuzzaman presided over the function while pro-vice chancellor (Academic) professor Nasreen Ahmad, pro-vice chancellor (Administration) professor Muhammad Samad and treasurer professor Kamal Uddin were present there as special guests.

The awarded teachers are - professor Rezaul Karim (Computer Science and Engineering), associate professor Abul Kalam Azad (Electrical and Electronic Engineering), assistant professor Sejuti Rahman (Robotics and Mechatronics Engineering) and assistant professor Mithun Sarker (Applied Chemistry and Chemical Engineering).

Vice-chancellor professor Akhtaruzzaman urged the students to become skilled human resources for the country to face the challenges of forth industrial revolution.
