‘30,301 BCS cadres recruited in last 10 years’

State minister for public administration Farhad Hossain on Monday informed the parliament that a total of 30,301 officials were recruited in different cadre services as per recommendation of the Bangladesh Public Service Commission (BPSC) from January 2010 to December 2019.

He disclosed the information while replying to a starred question made by treasury bench lawmaker Manjur Hossain in the house with speaker Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury in the chair.

Farhad also informed the house that the BPSC recommended 67,203 people for recruiting in the non-cadre services during the period.

Responding to a written question made by Jatiya Party lawmaker Md Rustum Ali Faraji, the state minister said according to the land ministry till January 2020, there are 149 vacant posts of assistant commissioner (land) across the country.

A total of 84 officials have been attached to the land ministry through a circular issued by public administration ministry on 27 January 2020, Farhad said.

Besides, a process is underway to attach the cadre officials of the 34th and 35th batches to the land ministry for posting to the assistant
commissioners (land), he added.
