A workshop on development was held at Islamic University (IU) in Kushtia on Monday, reports UNB.

IU development studies department organised the workshop at the Rabindra-Nazrul Arts building in the morning.

Dhaka University’s development studies professor Rashed Al-Mahmud addressed the seminar as the chief guest with IU development studies department chairperson professor Nasim Banu in the chair.

Among others, IU development studies department lecturers Hasnat Nahid, Hafijur Rahman and Firoz Hossain were present.

While addressing the workshop, the speakers shed lights on various issues including development ideas, methods, comparative analysis of development in the developed world and Bangladesh.

More than 200 students of the department participated in the workshop.
