Ershad's JaPa will contest next polls alone

Jatiya Party (JaPa) chairman Hussain Mohammad Ershad on Sunday said his party would contest in the next general election independently.

"Jatiya Party will independently contest in the next polls," he told his party's grand rally at Historic Suhrawardy Udyan in the capital on the occasion of JaPa's 31th founding anniversary.

Ershad, a former president, urged all party leaders and activities to make the party stronger organizationally so that the JP can play a very powerful role in the upcoming general election.

JaPa chairman said it's his desire to see his party in power to serve the people at the last stage of his life.
Ershad reiterated his demand for introducing provincial system as well as administrative reform to serve the countrymen.
Speaking on the occasion, Begum Raushan Ershad, the JaPa senior co-chairman and presidium member, echoed with her party chief saying, "Jatiya Party would never be used as the stairways of any political party to assume state power."
She called upon the JaPa leaders and workers to take preparation for the upcoming polls and ensure door-to-door campaign in favour of the party for the next polls.
JP co-chairman GM Quader, secretary general ABM Ruhul Amin Hawlader, MP and presidium member Kazi Feroz Rashid, among others, spoke on the occasion.
