Admin mediates between Ivy and Osman groups

Narayanganj Deputy Commissioner (DC) Rabbi Mia on Wednesday permitted hawkers to conduct their business as usual by occupying the sides of the city's roads, apart from Bangabandhu Road, on temporary basis following a clash between Hawkers and City mayor's followers on Tuesday, reports news agency UNB.

The district administration, following extensive negotiations with Narayanganj city mayor Selina Hayat Ivy and lawmaker Selim Osman, reached the arrangement whereby hawkers will be allowed to conduct their business occupying the sides of the streets "in a disciplined way" from 5:00pm to 10:00pm, until a permanent resolution .

Besides, a three-member probe committee headed by District's additional Deputy Commissioner Jasimuddin Haydar, was formed to scrutinize the clash and submit the report within 7 days.

Narayanganj additional Police Super Mostafizur Rahman said the investigation will proceed according to the statement of the General Dairy filed after the clash.
