Rohingya man shot dead in C’Bazar

A Rohingya man was shot to death by some unidentified miscreants at a Rohingya camp in Thaingkhali area of Ukhia upazila of Cox’s Bazar district on Friday night.

The deceased is Mohammad Yusuf, 35, leader (majhi) of no. 2 block of Tajnimar Khola Rohingya camp, reports UNB.

Ukhia police station officer-in-charge Abul Khayer said a gang of 20-25 miscreants shot Yusuf, leaving him critically injured.

The injured was admitted to the Red Crescent hospital at the camp where he succumbed to his injuries, he said.

Meanwhile, a gang of miscreant attempted to shoot another leader Arif Ullah of Balukhali camp-2.

Later, local Rohingyas chased the miscreants and caught one Mohammad Alam along with a pistol, added the OC.

Rohingya refugees claimed that a group of Rohingyas who are against their repatriation are carrying out the attacks on the leaders of the Rohingya camps.
