2 women ‘commit suicide’ in Jessore

Two women allegedly committed suicide in Manirampur upazila of Jessore distirct on Friday.

The deceased are Reksona, 32, daughter of a certain Sayed Ali of Jhapa village, and Sinthia Khatun, 22, wife of one Abdul Aziz of Mahamudkati village in the upazila, reports UNB.

Relatives found Reksona, a divorcee, hanging from a ceiling fan at her father’s house in the morning and informed the police, said Manirampur police station sub-inspector Mannafuzzaman.

Police later recovered Reksona’s body.

In another incident, Sinthia allegedly took her own life by hanging herself from the ceiling fan around 8.30pm, said local UP member Taijul Islam Milon.

Earlier on Wednesday, two housewives allegedly committed suicide in the same upazila.
