Two cousins crushed under train

Two cousins including a minor were crushed under the wheels of a train in Lal Bridge area here on Friday afternoon.

The deceased were identified as Sujan, 22, a third-year student of Chuadanga College and son of Alauddin Ali and Arafat Hossain, 9, a class three student and son of Nurnabi, both residents of Dingedaha village in sadar upazila.

Quoting witnesses, Mintu Rahman, station master of Alamdanga Railway Station, said Rajshahi-bound Mahananda Express hit them while they were walking on the rail tracks, leaving them dead on the spot around 5:00pm.

Abu Jihad, officer-in-charge of Alamdanga police station, said the accident took place while the duo was returning home after attending a kulkhani.

Being informed, railway police recovered the bodies.
