Two youths were killed in Bogura and Dhaka Monday, says UNB.

The deceased youth in Dhaka, identified as Jakir, was stabbed to death in Dakkhin Banasree on Monday night.

Rahima, a local resident of Dakhin Banasree, told UNB that she saw a gathering near 'Chartola Office' area when she was returning home around 8:30pm. "I saw a number of people were surrounding a youth, who was lying in a pool of blood. An ambulance was seen parked there but it refused to carry him because no one was agreeing to pay for it."

Rahima then requested the driver of the ambulance to carry the seriously injured youth and also told him that she will pay the ambulance rent, she said.

When Jakir was rushed to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital, the on-duty physician declared him dead at around 9:35 pm, said sub-inspector Bachchu Mia of DMCH police outpost. He added, there were stab wounds found on Jakir's chest.

The youth beaten to death by the locals in Bogura Monday for allegedly conducting "terrorist activities" at Fulbari Dokhhinpara in sadar upazila was identified as Rubel Hossain, 32, son of Sanju Miah.

Aambar Hossain, in-charge of Fulbari police outpost, said that there were several extortion cases against Rubel and he was also wanted in one case. There were also several terrorism allegations against him.

Being informed, police rushed to the spot but meanwhile Rubel was beaten to death by the agitated people around 2:30pm, Aambar said.

Rubel had been involved in extortion for long and the locals were in extreme discomfort with him, police said.

Deceased's mother Jhorna Begum however said the local agitated drug peddlers beat her son to death as he gave their information to police.

After giving information to police, he was out of the house for some days, she added. He had come home to take his NID card at noon when the drug peddlers came and took him in front of a shop and beat him to death, according to her account.
