The students of Dhaka University (DU) have seized four buses of Trust Paribahan on the campus protesting at 'sexual harassment' of a female student by a staff of the transport company at Karwan Bazar intersection on 17 May, reports UNB.

Sahabudding, assistant of a Trust Paribahan bus driver, misbehaved with the victim, a student of DU's Finance department, and sexually harassed her while she was travelling in the bus, said victim's friend Rashed Mahmud.

However, she managed to leave the bus at Shahbagh intersection, he added.

After the incident, the friends of the victim seized one bus of Trust Paribahan on Thursday and demanded punishment of the assistant.

As the bus authorities remained indifferent to their demand, the students seized another three buses of Trust Paribahan along with their staff.

A total of four buses of Trust Paribahan were seen parked at the Mall Chattar on the campus in the afternoon, witnesses said.

Proctor AKM Golam Rabbani said he had heard the matter but no written complaint has yet been lodged in this regard.
