4 children drown in Natore, Chandpur
Four children, including two sisters, drowned in Natore and Chandpur on Thursday, reports UNB.
In Natore, two sisters drowned while taking bath in Nandakuja river in Chawktebaria village of Sadar upazila.
The deceased were identified as Shimla, 6, and her sister Sadia, 10, daughters of Hanif Sheikh of Char Gobindapur village in Kumarkhali upazila.
Locals said the duo went to the river for taking bath around 1:00pm and at one stage they drowned.
Later, local people rescued the two sisters and took them to a nearby private clinic where physicians declared them dead.
In Chandpur, two cousins drowned in a pond while playing at Enayetpur village in Hajiganj upazila at noon.
They are Md Sourav, 4, son of Md Alam Hossain and his cousin Md Arafat Hossain, 4, son of Md Shah Alam of Enayetpur village.
Local municipality ward councillor Md Azad Hossain said the two brothers went missing at noon and later their bodies were found floating in a pond.
