Inhuman torture leads to boy's death

An adolescent boy was allegedly killed through inhuman torture in Khulna on Monday.
The deceased is identified as Rakib, 13, son of a truck driver, Nurul Alam.
He fell severely sick as the torturers allegedly blew air inside his rectum from a compressor machine.
Police and locals said the incident occurred in an automobile workshop in Khulna’s Tutpara area.
Locals caught three people involved in torturing Rakib and handed them over to the police.
The arrested are garage owner Omar Sharif, his mother Beauty Begum, and employee Mintoo Khan.
Sukumar Bishwas, officer-in-charge of Sadar Thana police, said Rakib was killed as the torturers allegedly blew air into his anus from a compressor machine.
Rakib’s family have sued the three accused.
According to the police and local people, Rakib quit his job from Sharif Motors and started working at another workshop. On Monday, the accused called him inside Sharif Motors while he was passing by. Later, they tortured Rakib inside the garage. When he fell sick, the torturers themselves took him to a local clinic. He was transferred to Khulna Medical College Hospital as his condtion deteriorated. The doctors advised to transfer him to Dhaka. Rakib breathed his last while he was on way to Dhaka.
Police said Rakib’s body have been kept at the Khulna Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy.
