Opener Kusal Mendis hit his second fifty in as many games while Danushka Gunathilaka's bat also sparked as Sri Lanka made a flying start in the final T20 against Bangladesh on Sunday.

The visitors now have 98 for 1, Gunathilaka just giving a catch to Tamim Iqbal off a Soumya Sarkar delivery. The batsman once again started very brightly, but failed to make it a fifty. His 42 off 37 balls featured three fours and two sixes.

Kusal is unbeaten on 50 from 29 balls, made with five fours and two sixes.

Winning the toss at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium, Tigers skipper Mahmudullah decided to chase this time after losing the first game despite making 193 batting first.

Kusal and Gunathilaka, like the first T20, started attacking from the start and the Bangladesh bowlers were once again on the receiving end.

Opener Tamim Iqbal returned for the Tigers in the game while the hosts have also called back allrounder Mahedi Hasan and handed Abu Jayed a debut.

The visitors made just one change, left-arm spinner Amila Aponso came in for N Dickwella.
