Nurul Hasan Sohan regretted for his arguing behaviour with Thisara Perera what he committed during Bangladesh’s match against hosts Sri Lanka in the Nidahas Trophy tri-nation tournament at R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on Friday, reports UNB.

“I should have been quiet. I think the heat of the moment got to me,” Sohan said while talking to reporters after returning home from Sri Lanka on Monday.

Describing the reason behind the incident, he said, “I was sent inside the field to speak to (Mahmudullah) Riyad bhai. I asked the umpire whether the first ball was given a bouncer. Thisara Perera came up to me and said, ‘Who are you to talk? You go, you don’t have to talk’. I said I am not talking to you. He started to abuse me. I kept saying it has nothing to do with you. This is all that happened.”

However, substitute Bangladesh’s player Sohan was fined 25 per cent of his match fee for his behaviour with Lankan skipper Thisara Perera in the match.
