Asia Cup winning team awarded Tk 20 million

The Bangladesh Cricket Board on Monday announced that the Asia Cup winning Bangladesh women's cricket team will be awarded Tk 20 million for their historic achievement.

The declaration came at a press conference following an Iftar hosted by the BCB at a city hotel. The Tigresses were also accorded a reception there as they were brought to the hotel straight from the airport on their arrival from Malaysia.

In Sunday's final, Bangladesh defeated six-time champions India in a nail-biting thriller to lift the Asia Cup trophy for the first time. The champions had defeated both India and Pakistan in the group stages as well.
