2 more private universities approved

The government has given permissions to establishing two more private universities named Khan Bahadur Ahsanullah University in Khulna and Ahsania Mission University of Science and Technology in Rajshahi.

An education ministry official said a letter was issued to the authorities concerned on Tuesday, giving initial permission for the universities.

With this, the number of private universities now stands at 98.

Ahsania Mission’s president Kazi Rafiqul Alam is the initiator of these two universities.

Kazi Rafiqul is also the founder of Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology in Tejgaon area in Dhaka.

The ministry officials said more universities are on the card ahead of general elections scheduled to be held at the year end.
