BetterStories Limited, the German Embassy Dhaka and Whiteboard of Grameenphone jointly invite exceptionally talented innovators, engineers, geeks and sales people to join 10 freshly-minted start-ups as CTOs (Chief Technical Officer) and CMOs (Chief Marketing Officer).

Applicants are invited to apply by 1 May 2018 via the website: Zeitgeist.OOO, according to a press release of the German embassy in Dhaka on Thursday.

BetterStories has developed 10 business “Red Statements” to solve 10 critical problems. A 2-day workshop at Whiteboard will be offered on the 5th and 6th May 2018 with a set of German and local experts as mentors, where 10 CTOs and CMOs will be chosen to build up 10 start-ups, said the press release.

Top talents from polytechnics, science, engineering, agricultural, business and other backgrounds are invited to apply against the 10 Red Statements shared on the website: Zeitgeist.OOO.

Selected CTOs and CMOs will be offered a year-long incubation, up to 70% of the equity of the start-up to be earned over a period of 3 years, an opportunity to pitch to a high-profile Jury consisting of CXOs of Grameen phone, BetterStories Limited, German Embassy, and German experts. The selected participants will also get to meet the Head of Mission of the German Embassy, access to German experts’ advice, access to Grameenphone assets and growth hacks by Whiteboard.

This partnership between the German Embassy, Whiteboard of Grameenphone and BetterStories Limited has been formed to promote the German innovation in Bangladesh and solve some of the most critical problems of this country.

A research by BetterStories has revealed that, contrary to popular belief that ideas don’t matter, a lot of start-ups in Bangladesh actually fail because they often start with a bad idea. Therefore, the Zeitgeist.OOO will offer 10 Red Statements and the workshop will offer 10 pre-developed business “Red Prints” to further build on. The best of the participants will be offered a co-founder role and a CTO/CMO position in the 10 new start-ups built on these 10 new “Red Ideas”.

On this occasion the ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany in Bangladesh, Thomas Prinz, said, “Germans are known for their precision, efficiency and innovation across the globe. We’re happy to create this platform with BetterStories and Grameenphone. We look forward to seeing what comes out of Zeitgeist.OOO.”

Director of BetterStories Limited Selima Allen said, “BetterStories is about changing the narratives of Bangladesh: one start-up at a time. There are numerous opportunities disguised as problems in our country and we believe our young minds can solve them extremely well. We’re here to support them for a flying start with Zeitgeist.OOO.”

Grameenphone CEO Michael Foley said, “We believe in the “Red Way” of doing things. Grameenphone strongly endorses the idea of the young minds solving some of the biggest challenges of the time. We look forward to the top 10 sets of CTOs and CMOs building 10 fresh new start-ups.”
