PM for distributing student stipends properly

Prime minister Sheikh Hasina on Wednesday asked the concerned officials to take appropriate steps for proper distribution of stipends and other education facilities to poor and brilliant students.

Such stipend programme has been taken by the government under the prime minister's education trust fund.

The prime minister gave the directive at the fifth meeting of the prime minister's 'Education Assistance Trust Fund' at her office.

The prime minister's press secretary Ihsanul Karim said the prime minister, who is also the chairperson of the trust, asked the officials to take steps for activation of the e-stipend system so facilitate the students getting the assistance online.

The meeting reviewed the activities of the trust and current situation of fund as well as stipend programmes of 2018, the press secretary said.

Members of the trust finance minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith, education minister Nurul Islam Nahid, planning minister AHM Mustafa Kamal and primary and mass education minister Mustafizur Rahman, among others, attended the meeting.

Members of the trust congratulated the prime minister Sheikh Hasina and the prime minister's advisor on ICT affairs Sajeeb Ahmed Joy for successful launching of Bangabandhau Satellite-1.
