BSMRSTU to open 3 depts, one institute

The authorities of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Science & Technology University (BSMRSTU) here has decided to open three new departments and an institute in its 2018-19 academic session, reports UNB.

The departments are architecture, food engineering and technology and botany, while the institute is 'Sheikh Hasina ICT Institute'.

With the new addition, the total number of departments of the university will be 34 and that of institutes four.

According to a press release on Sunday, the 'Sheikh Hasina ICT institute' will be set up at Dattapara in Shibchar upazila of Madaripur district.

Bangladesh University Grant Commission has recently approved posts of 70 more teachers and 80 officials and staff for the new departments and institute of the university, the release added.
