A customs team recovered 12 gold bars, weighing around 1.400 kg, from a dustbin of a toilet at Osmani International Airport in Sylhet on Saturday, reports UNB.

Superintendent of customs intelligence at the airport Ajgar Ali said they seized the gold bars that were left abandoned in the bin around 9am.

Someone might have left the gold bars into the dustbin after failure to smuggle those, he said.

A total of three flights, including one from Dubai and a Sylhet-London connecting one, landed at the airport today, Ajgar said.
