16 DIGs, 32 Addl DIGs transferred

In a major reshuffle in the police administration, the government has transferred 16 deputy inspector generals (DIG) and 32 additional DIGs.

The Home Ministry issued a circulation in this regard on Wednesday.

According to the circular, Chittagong Metropolitan Police (CMP) commissioner Md Abdul Jalil Mondal has been sent to RAB as additional director general (DG) while additional DG of RAB Aftab Uddin Ahmed to Special Branch (SB) as DIG, reports UNB news agency.

DIG (Rangpur Range) Md Iqbal Bahar replaced Md Abdul Jalil Mondal while DIG of Mahbub Alam has been transferred to the Police Headquarters (PHQ).

Additional DIG of SB Md Mazharul Islam has been made DIG of SB while additional commissioner of DMP Mohammad Ibrahim Fatemi DIG of Police Staff College.

Besides, additional commissioner of DMP Khandker Golam Faruque has been posted to Rangpur Range as DIG, joint commissioner of DMP

Jamil Ahmed made additional police commissioner of DMP, Additional DIG of PHQs M Khurshed Hossain DIG of Rajshahi Range, additional

commissioner of CMP AKM Shahidur Rahman DIG of PHQs, additional DIG of Rajshahi Range Md Abdullah Al Mahmud DIG of Bangladesh
