17th Viqarunnisa Noon Science fest begins

Seventeenth Viqarunnisa Noon Science Festival, arranged by the Viqarunnisa Noon Science Club, began at the main campus of the college on Thursday.
Civil aviation and tourism minister Rashed Khan Menon, also the chief guest of the opening ceremony, inaugurated the programme.
“Getting good grades are not enough, the importance of reading beyond syllabus is immense. Hopefully, our girls will participate in every sphere of knowledge,” Menon said in his speech.
Chairperson of the event and the principal of the school Sufiya Khatun advised the participants to keep an open mind about the things unknown. Dean of the Engineering and Technology Department of Dhaka University, Dr Professor Rafiqul Islam, was special guest of the event.
Along with Viquarunnisa, almost 1,500 students of 65 other educational institutiuons are taking part in quize, Olympiad, rubik’s cube and sudocu competition, and other events.
The fest will continue for four days. It will be opened for all female students of other institutes and male students with entry pass on 7 August.
