19 top police officials transferred

In a major reshuffle in the police administration, 19 senior police officials, including an additional inspector general of police (IGP), were transferred on Thursday.

One additional IGP, six deputy inspector generals (DIGs) and 12 superintendents of police (SPs) were given new postings in public interest, said a home ministry notification.

Additional IGP Sheikh Hemayet Hossain of Armed Police Battalion (APBn) has been made Additional IGP of Criminal Investigation Department (CID).

Additional DIG of CID Musharraf Hossain has been transferred to the Police Headquarters as DIG (TR), while additional DIG of Chittagong Range SM Ruhul Amin posted to Railway Range as DIG, and DIG of Railway Range Mallick Fakhrul Islam transferred to DIG of Highway Range.

Besides, Additional DIG of Highway Range SM Kamal Hossain has been transferred to CID as additional DIG, while additional DIG of Special Branch (SB) Mohammad Ali Miah posted to Rajshahi Range as additional DIG and additional DIG of Rajshahi Range M Khurshed Hossain transferred to the Police Headquarters as DIG.

Commandment of RRF (Chittagong) Md Iqbal Hosssain has been posted to Police Staff College, while Mirpur, as SP Anwar Kamal posted as SP of River Police (Dhaka), captain of the 3rd APBn Khulna Md Mostafa Kamal as SP of PBI (Dhaka), commandment of RRF (Dhaka) Md Shahriar transferred to River Police (Dhaka) as SP, deputy commissioner (DC) of Khulna Metropolitan Police Md Julfikar Ali Haider transferred to PBI (Dhaka) as SP, SP of PTC (Noakhali) Mia Masud Karim transferred to PBI (Dhaka) as SP and former SP of Narail District Sarder Rafiqul Islam was posted again as SP after returning from the United Nations Peace Keeping Mission.

SP of Narail district Mohammad Abdul Quader has been posted to the Police Headquarters as SP (TR), while former SP of Chapainawabganj Md Sajjadur Rahman given new posting as SP of PTC (Rangpur), AIG of Police Headquarters Sayed Tariqul Hasan transferred to Rangamati district as SP, SP of Police Academy (Sarda) Nowroj Hasan Talukder given new posting as SP of Tourist Police (Dhaka) and Commandant of RRF (Chittagong) Sardar Nurul Amin posted as SP of Tourist Police (Dhaka).
