2 Hizbut Tawhid members killed in Noakhali clash

At least two alleged members of Hizb-ut Tawhid were killed in a clash with villagers at Pokra village of Sonaimuri upazila in Noakhali on Monday.

The deceased are Ibrahim Rubel, 32, Solaiman Khokon, 28. Noakhali police superintendant Ilias Sharif said both of them are Hizb-ut Tawhid activists.

Witnesses said a number of clashes took place between the villagers and the Hizb-ut Tawhid members in the area leaving the two men dead.

Reason of the clashes was not known immediately.

Police fired blank shots and tear gas shells to control the situation.
