ACC to sue 2-ex Teletalk officers
The Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) is set to sue two former officials of Teletalk, the state-owned telecommunication company, for alleged misappropriation of nearly Tk 10 crore.
The Commission at its regular meeting approved a proposal to file a case against former assistant manger (systems operation) SM Tarique Rahman and former assistant manger (market development) Sabibul Rahman Shiblu.
According to the ACC probe report, the two Teletalk officials in collusion with each other misappropriated Tk 9.75 crore keeping the mobile phone numbers of Teletalk out of the billing system by converting the pre-paid phones to postpaid during October 2010-June 2011 period.
Later, the two officials deposited the money into their bank accounts, purchased lands and flats, and also invested in the share market.
ACC deputy assistant director Hafizur Rahman inquired into the graft allegation.
