2 missing women found dead in Nawabganj

Police recovered the decomposed bodies of two missing women from a pond in Sultanpur area of Nawabganj upazila of Dhaka on Friday, reports UNB.

The deceased are Moyna Akhter, 50, wife of Md Jamal, and Nargis Akhter, 45, wife of Inam Ali, residents of Azizpur village under Jantrail union of the upazila.

Quoting locals, sub-inspector Shafiqul Islam of Nawabganj police station said locals spotted the bodies of the women floating in the pond at noon and informed police.

Later, the law enforcers recovered the bodies and sent those to Sir Salimullah Medical College Hospital in the capital for autopsy.

The bodies bore injury marks, the SI said, adding that the two women had gone missing on 9 April.

However, the family members did not inform anything to police, he said.
