250 Bangladeshis die of COVID-19 in US

Nine more Bangladeshis have been confirmed dead in the United States after being infected with the novel coronavirus. They are Tasnim Nawar Tama, 30, Nuruddin 65, Rasheda Begum, 65, Mohammad Haque, 72, Maulana Mujahid Ali, 76, Altaf Hossain Loni 76, Kazi Mohammad 77 and Mohammad A Samad, 74.

So far 250 Bangladeshis have died in the country due to the infection.

New York has been hit the hardest by the spread of coronavirus among other US states. It has the highest incidence of infections and deaths compared to other states as another 226 people died in the state on 9 May.

The number of people infected and dying from coronavirus in the United States is increasing at an alarming rate. In the past 24 hours, 1,412 more people have died from the virus in the country. The total death toll in the United States stood at 60,036.

According to Worldometer, 24,986 people have been newly infected with the coronavirus in the country. The total number of victims in the country is 1,34,7309. In New York, a total of 343,409 people have been affected by coronavirus so far while 26,771 people have died so far.

New Jersey has the second highest number of coronavirus patients after New York. The number of victims in this state is 138,579. Of them, 9,118 people have died.
