257 dengue patients hospitalised in 24 hrs: DGHS

As many as 257 new patients were admitted to different hospitals across the country in 24 hours till Saturday morning. Of the total people diagnosed with dengue, 219 were admitted to different government and private hospitals in Dhaka, reports UNB.

So far, 24 suspected dengue deaths were reported to the Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control and Research (IEDCR). However, the IEDCR is yet to verify the cases, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

Some 1,040 patients diagnosed with dengue are undergoing treatment in hospitals in the country as of Saturday morning. Among them, 954 patients are receiving treatment at different hospitals in the capital, said a release from DGHS.
