3 UPDF members killed in ‘gunfight’ with army

Three members of United People’s Democratic Front (UPDF-Bikash Khisa) were killed in a reported gunfight with army personnel at Boradom in Dighinala upazila of Khagrachhari early Monday.

The identities of the deceased could not be known yet.

"Criminals opened fire on a patrol team of army, forcing them to fire back in self-defence, leading to a gunfight," said a press release of Inter Service Public Relations (ISPR).

Army members recovered three bodies and three firearms from the spot after the 'gunfight'.

Khagrachhari superintendent of police Ahmaruzzaman said he heard about such an incident but he has no further details.
