Relatives have identified the bodies of four persons who were found dead inside a padlocked house at South Keraniganj in Dhaka, on Wednesday.

Police suspect Saju Ahmed, his wife Ranji Begum, and their two children, Imran and Sanjida, might have been asphyxiated to death.

They were from the village of Sarikandi in Debiganj upazila, Panchagarh.

Their bodies are now at the Salimullah Medical College Hospital mortuary.

On Thursday, Saju Ahmed's elder brother, Mohammad Bashir, identified the bodies at the mortuary.

South Keraniganj police officer-in-charge, Jamaluddin Mir, said they had taken in the house caretaker, Sohel Mia, and a resident of the area, Akkas, for interrogation.

Preparations for filing a case were underway, he added.
