Prothom Alo on Monday, 20 November reported that the Saudi ambassador to Bangladesh Essa Yussef Al Duhailan, reported that Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman would be visiting Bangladesh next year, 2023.
The report said the ambassador made this statement while paying a courtesy call on Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at her official residence Ganabhaban on Saturday.
The Saudi embassy in Dhaka has, however, expressed its surprise at such a report, saying that the ambassador Essa Yussef Essa Al Duhailan did not mention any specific date about the possible visit.
The schedule of the planned visit of the Saudi Crown Prince would be finalised later through diplomatic channels, the embassy said.
