ACC files another case against ex-mayor Khoka

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) on Thursday filed a case against former Dhaka City Corporation (DCC) mayor and BNP leader Sadeque Hossain Khoka for his alleged involvement in allocating 138 shops illegally.
ACC deputy director Mahbubul Alam filed the case against him with Shahbagh Police Station in the capital, said ACC public relations officer Pranab Kumar. According to the first information report (FIR), Khoka illegally allocated 138 shops of 10 city markets, including Kabi Nazrul College’s market and Nababbari Super Market, during his tenure in 2005-2011, reports news agency UNB.
On August 24, 2014, the ACC filed another case against the former DCC mayor and seven others for allegedly building shops occupying parking lots and open spaces at Bangabazar and the Dhaka Trade Centre in Gulisthan illegally.
