ACC summons 6 Rajuk officials

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) on Thursday summoned six officials of Rajdhani Unnayan Kartripakkha (Rajuk) to investigate the allegation of illegally allotting plots to former Rajuk chairman Nurul Huda and his wife.

ACC deputy director Zulfikar Ali summoned the six officials in a notice sent to the present Rajuk chairman.

ACC would question Rajuk member (estate) Akhtar Hossain Bhuiyan, director (estate) Khijir Ahmed, deputy director (estate-3) AKM Ahsan Iqbal Bhuiyan on 25 August at 10:00am, while assistant director (estate-3) Habibur Rahman, kanungo, and later assistant director-1 M Abu Musa, and lower assistant cum typist (estate) Monowara Begum would be questioned on 26 August at 10:00am.

According to ACC sources, the commission earlier received allegations that former Rajuk chairman Nurul Huda took a 10 katha land at road 103 of sector 9 in Purbachal in his name, while another Rajuk plot was allotted in his wife's name.

According to Rajuk rules, if one gets a government plot, his wife or family members cannot avail of another plot.

Other than that, using his power illegally, Nurul Huda allotted the 15/b residential plot at road 93 of Gulshan for commercial use. He also illegally allotted a number of plots in Gulshan and Purbachal project.

Allegations have it that Nurul Huda was financially benefited by allotting the lands.
