AL expels MP Tamanna for cheating in BA exams

District AL president and MP from Sadar-1 constituency Md Nurul Islam Hiru (Bir Pratik) confirmed the matter to UNB after a meeting at the party’s office in the afternoon.

In October, Bangladesh Open University expelled Tamanna after cancelling her registration and examinations for using proxy.

The widow of former Narsingdi municipality mayor and Awami League leader Lokman Hossain was elected an MP from the reserved seats for women earlier this year.

Tamanna, who has a Higher Secondary Certificate, got admitted to BOU’s BA course.

According to media reports, she had sent other people to eight exams as proxy candidates while she stayed in Dhaka. One of them was caught red-handed.
