AL introduces word ‘militant’ in country: Hannan Shah

The ruling Awami League has introduced word ‘militant’ in the country, Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) standing committee member ASM Hannan Shah claimed on Friday.
A section of the government and a special force of it are involved in militant acts in the country, he told a meeting.
The meeting was organised by BNP’s volunteer wing Jatiyatabadi Swechchhasebak Dal at the National Press Club in protest at the alleged torture of its president Habib-un-Nabi Khan Sohel and other leaders of the party.
UNB news agency adds: criticising the government for repressing BNP men, Hannan Shah said country's people are afraid of the government's ministers, MPs, leaders and law-enforcement agencies as they are carrying out terrorist activities in the country.
Referring to some sensational incidents where there were alleged involvement of ministers or ruling party MPs, including Narayanganj seven murders and shooting of a minor boy by Gaibandha-1 MP Manjurul Islam Liton, he said, "No one could be more terrorists than Awami League ministers, MPs, leaders and activists," he added.
Alleging that the government is spreading lies over BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia's London tour, BNP senior leader Hannan Shah said she would return home on completion of her treatment.
"We want to make it clear that there's no other destination for Khaleda, other than Bangladesh. She's now in London for her treatment. She'll be back to Bangladesh once her treatment is over."
He also observed that locals, foreigners and even members of law-enforcement agencies are not safe in the country's prevailing situation as the government has failed to maintain law and order in the country.
Hannan Shah called upon the government to resolve country's current political crisis through dialogue with all political parties.
