Man jailed for life for killing brother

A man has been sentenced for life for killing his brother in their Dhaka residence more than two years ago.

ATM Khaliquzzaman Kushal, son of popular actor ATM Shamsuzzaman, stabbed and killed his elder brother ATM Kamruzzaman Kabir in front of their parents in Sutrapur residence on 13 March 2012. 

The Sutrapur police arrested Khaliquzzaman along with the bloodstained knife and Shamsuzzaman filed a murder case on the day.

Dhaka Speedy Trial Tribunal-1 judge Shahed Noor Uddin announced the verdict on Sunday and fined the convict Tk 50,000, in default, to serve one more year in jail.
