Abdul Matin hospitalised following stroke
Language movement leader Abdul Matin has been hospitalised after he had a massive stroke on Monday afternoon. Doctors say left portion of his body has been paralysed.
Bibartan Cultural Centre general secretary Mofizur Rahman Laltu, a man close to Matin's family, said the language activist was first taken to the National Cardiology Institute and later shifted to City Hospital in Dhaka. He is now under treatment of doctor Harunur Rashid, also assistant professor of Medicine department of Salimullah Medical College.
Mofizur Rahman said Abdul Matin had been suffering from dementia for last few months. He was failing to recognise anybody around him, added Mofizur.
Doctor Harunur Rashid on Monday evening said Abdul Matin was still senseless and his physical condition was not well. A medical board had been formed for his treatment, the doctor added.
