Abrar Fahad, a student of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), who was beaten to death allegedly by the university unit BCL activists early Monday, was laid to eternal rest on Tuesday morning in Kushtia.

BCL is the student wing of ruling Awami League.

Abrar was buried at his family graveyard in Raidanga village following the third namaz-e-janaza, held around 10:00am with the presence of a large numbers of people.

After the janaza, Abrar's father Barkat Ullah sought forgiveness for his son. Many people who attended the janaza expressed their anger and demanded justice for Abrar murder.

Earlier, an ambulance carrying the body of Abrar reached at his house on Bir Muktijoddha Asad Road in Kushtia town around 5:00am. Relatives and neighbours broke down in tears seeing the body of the young boy.

Hundreds of people gathered there to have a glimpse of Abrar’s body.

Earlier, police detained nine leaders and activists of BCL in connection with the killing of Abrar on Monday and his father filed a case against 19 BCL men with Chawkbazar police station.
