Police on Thursday announced the arrest of another accused in a lawsuit filed for the murder of Barguna youth, Rifat Sharif, in broad daylight in the district town last month, reports news agency UNB.

Superintendent of police in Barguna Maruf Hossain said they arrested Rishan Farazi around 10:15am.

He, however, declined to give details.

Rifat, 22, was attacked with sharp weapons near the main gate of Barguna Government College.

An analysis of CCTV footages showed victim’s wife Aysha Siddika Minni appeared to be trying to protect him during the broad daylight attack.

Police arrested Minni on Tuesday night after a daylong interrogation. A court granted police five days to interrogate her in custody.

Apart from Minni, 13 suspects have so far been arrested. Seven of them have reportedly confessed to their involvement in the murder.
