BNP leader Shahriar Rumi quits

Days after resignation by Shamsher Mobin Chowdhury from BNP, its central committee member MM Shahriar Rumi announced his retirement from politics on Sunday quitting all posts of the party, reports news agency UNB.
“I can’t adjust with the party ideology. So, I’ve decided to quit politics,” he told UNB over phone on Sunday.
Rumi said he sent his resignation letter to BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia, its acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir and spokesman Asaduzzaman Ripon through currier service in addition to issuing a press release with his signature in the morning.
Shahriar Rumi, also senior vice present of Faridpur unit of BNP, joined the party in 2001 deserting Awami League.
Earlier on 29 October, BNP vice chairman Shamsher Mobin Chowdhury retired from politics on health ground quitting all posts of the party.
