Bangabandhu murder case plaintiff Mohitul no more

Plaintiff of the Bangabandhu murder case AFM Mohitul Islam died at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) on Thursday, reports news agency UNB.
He was 63.
Mohitul, a receptionist-cum-resident personal assistant of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, breathed his last at the intensive care unit (ICU) of the BSMMU around 2:55pm, its public relations officer Proshanto Majumder told UNB.
He was undergoing treatment for respiratory problems at the hospital for the past 15 days, said Prashanto.
Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman -- the architect of the country’s independence --was assassinated along with most of his family members at the crack of dawn on 15 August, 1975 by some derailed army personnel as per a deep-rooted conspiracy against the country and its independence.
His two daughters -- Sheikh Hasina, now the prime minister, and Sheikh Rehana -- survived the massacre as they were abroad at that time.
Mohitul Islam filed the case in connection with the massacre in 1996, immediately after the Awami League came to power after long 21 years.
